The competition begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 12

6th graders put continents together like puzzle pieces to display Pangea. Students colored fossil patterns to provide more evidence that our continents used to all be one large supercontinent.
To launch their Cellular Biology Unit, 7th graders created whiteboards that displayed what their group thought makes something "living" or "nonliving." 7th graders then presented their arguments and rewrote their definitions of "life" after seeing what their peers shared.

Debates were held in Mrs. Master's Reading/Writing Workshop. They had several days to come up with their arguments and do research to find information that supported their point of view. They also spent some time thinking about why others might disagree with them and what points or research they might use to prove the opposite points in order to prepare for a rebuttal.
7th Grade Health students wrapped up their lesson on stress by playing the "Potholes" game. Students pair up to navigate a road with potholes while one is blindfolded.

Student Council will be taking orders for Valentine's Day Candy Grams all this week! Students can place their orders during Morning Advisory, they need to have money with them to order, items are sold on a first come, first serve basis as we have a limited amount. Thank you to Mr. Ty Warczinsky, Substance Abuse Coordinator with Child Advocacy Gratiot County for speaking to our Eighth Graders currently enrolled in Health. His talk on ACT (Acknowledge, Care, and Tell) is an essential skill to have when understanding suicide awareness. Having discussions on stress, anxiety, and depression are an important part of our Middle School Health Classes.
